Who We Are
We are believers in Christ from various backgrounds who love the Lord Jesus Christ and endeavor to give Him “the first place in all things” (Colossians 1:18). Our desire is to cooperate with Him for the accomplishment of His eternal purpose (Ephesians 3:11) by ministering the unsearchable riches of Christ (Ephesians 3:8) for the building up of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12).
As an organization, Christians on Campus has been registered at North Lake since 2002. We meet together for the growth and mutual encouragement in the Christian life through campus Bible studies, prayer, and group gatherings.
We warmly receive all believers in Christ and seek to maintain the oneness of the Spirit by keeping our focus on Christ. He is so rich! He is so full! He is everything to us, and we enjoy Him!
What We Believe
We hold the faith which is common to all believers (Titus 1:4; Jude 1:3):
- The Bible is the complete divine revelation inspired word-by-word by God through the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16).
- God is uniquely one, yet triune — the Father, the Son, and the Spirit (1 Timothy 2:5a; Matthew 28:19).
- The Son of God, who is God Himself, was incarnated to be a man by the name of Jesus Christ (John 1:1; John 1:14).
- Christ died on the cross for our sins, shedding His blood for our redemption (1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7a).
- Christ resurrected from among the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:4).
- Whenever a person repents to God and believes into the Lord Jesus Christ, he is regenerated (born again) and becomes a living member of the Body of Christ (Acts 20:21; John 3:3; Ephesians 1:22-23; Romans 12:5).
- Christ is coming again to receive His believers to Himself (1 Thessalonians 2:19).
What We Do
We enjoy reading the Bible, praying, singing, and enjoying Christ. To facilitate this, we have several types of meetings during the week and throughout the semester:
- Weekly Bible Studies— Two types of Bible studies are held during the week – large group Bible studies and small group Bible studies.
- The large group Bible studies are held weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 12:30pm and 1:30pm in the North Lake Cafeteria. Anyone who is available at this time can come to enjoy fellowship from God’s Word. This semester we will be reading the book of Acts. Email us at christiansoncampusnlc@gmail.com for more information.
- The small group Bible studies are held throughout the week in smaller groups of three to five people. Each group is tailored to fit the schedule of individual students. If you are interested in setting up a small group Bible study, you can send an e-mail to christiansoncampusnlc@gmail.com with the subject line “Small Group Bible Study”.
- Thursday Night Fellowship – During the week we have a weekly dinner and meeting on Thursday nights. Email christiansoncampusnlc@gmail.com for more information.
- Campus Connect – Each semester, an outing is held in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the Christians on Campus groups in the Metroplex. Students get together from the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at Arlington, the University of Texas at Dallas, North Lake College, and other campuses. This is a great time to enjoy and experience Christ and to meet more Christian students from other campuses.
- Weekend Retreat – Once per semester, we get together for a weekend long conference. The conference is for campuses in the Southwest region, and it’s a great time to meet believers from the area campuses. It’s also a great opportunity to set aside a weekend to get into the Bible and allow the Lord to enlighten and speak.
- End of Semester Celebration Dinner– At the end of each semester, a dinner is held to celebrate what the Lord has done in all of our lives. We gather together to have dinner and share how the Lord has worked in our life that semester.
We also like to preach the gospel and pray for one another. To do this, we schedule times to go out to present the gospel and times to pray for each other and for our personal burdens. Please join us during the semester for times of preaching the gospel and praying for one another.
